Two doors. Same rule.
ENJOY THE SILENCE
Relation need not be completed in speech in order to bear.
Words can carry a relation. They can also finish it before it has become capable of bearing. Articulation is not the same act as participation. A relation may remain operative while much of it stays unsaid.
SPEECH ≠ RELATION
ARTICULATION ≠ PARTICIPATION
SILENCE ≠ ABSENCE
Enjoy the Silence names a condition in which relation continues without requiring exhaustive statement. The silence is not a failure to speak. It is the interval in which proportion can hold.
What the work makes available here is not a doctrine of quiet. It is a distinction:
A relation may be damaged by being said too completely.
A relation may bear while remaining partly unspoken.
VIOLA asks what the relation makes possible.
Perception may be a mediated encounter rather than a possession of the other.
Presentation may hold attention without becoming the person presented.
Disclosure may alter a relation without resolving it.
Passage may leave capacity changed without returning either element to a prior state.
None of these readings exhausts the work.
None of them requires the work to have intended them.
THE ARTIFACT DOES NOT BELONG TO THE OFFICE.
THE OFFICE DISCLOSES A RELATION TO THE ARTIFACT.
SAME ARTIFACT ≠ SAME RELATION
SHARED REFERENCE ≠ SHARED FUNCTION
What remains unresolved belongs elsewhere.
